1966
Founding year
The company was founded in Massanassa, in the Albufera area, the main rice-growing area in Spain at that time.
The proximity to the farmer is one of the keys to the start of the project.
1980
New location and new facilities
In full growth, the company moves to its current location to continue guaranteeing supply to its customers and also builds its first dryer, an important step to control the entire process.
1995
New storage and drying plant
The company continues to position itself at a good pace among the local trade and large industrial customers, which is why another key step in its growth is when it acquires a dryer and several warehouses in the heart of the Albufera (Catarroja).
This allows Arrocerías Pons to establish a direct relationship with the farmer in the purchase of raw materials.
1999
Commitment to Mercadona
Arrocerías Pons joins Mercadona’s INTERPROVIDER project. A key moment in the evolution of the company.
2000
Committed to quality
A series of investments begin, focusing mainly on improving food safety, expanding the facilities and creating a new packaging area separate from the milling area.
2009
New plant in the heart of the Albufera Natural Park
One of the highest investments in the company’s history is made through the construction of a dryer and storage silos in Sollana.
Again, a key factor in controlling the entire raw materials process, a strategic point for local purchases.
2015
Procurement in Extremadura
Acquisition of another rice processing and packaging plant. Arrocerías Dorado, due to its location in a rice-growing area (Don Benito – Extremadura), guarantees the purchasing and distribution needs of our rice.
2016
Road to business excellence
2016 marks the start of a multi-year project in which all the main structural and methodological investments are geared towards excellence in QUALITY.
2024
New processing plant
In 2024, a new processing plant is inaugurated, aimed at increasing production capacity and guaranteeing growth in the coming years.
The digitalisation of all processes begins, allowing the company to prepare for the future from a perspective of optimisation and sustainability.
We are the largest producer and packer of rice in Spain, and we want to continue growing with Quality and excellence as the cornerstones of our strategy.
